Who's watching

Interesting couple of articles on the Evening Times site discussing the pros and cons of CCTV cameras to keep us safe in the streets. Apparently we currently have over 400 cameras in the city but there are none on Byres Road or Kilmarnock Road. Juding by the quotes from the MSP's and police it will not be long before we get some. But do they keep us any safer? Do they deter muggers?

Click this link to see the original piece, read the comments and get a list of the locations of all the cameras we do have in the Southside.
