When the moon hits your eye . . .
To start us off lets decide who makes the best pizza in the Southside. The following are the names suggested so far by readers. You have until Friday night to add any that have been missed into the comments below and then we will collate all suggestions into a little voting pole using the wonder of technology.

So the top three Southside places for Pizza as voted by you are:

It was really a bit of a two horse race with just a few votes between Bella Napoli and Dario's then quite a drop down to the next group with Bier Stube just coming in ahead of Stefanos and Di Maggios. All three of the top places are in Shawlands, is it the mecca for pizza in the South or do its residents vote more? One thing is for certain wherever you go in the Southside you are not short of a place to buy a good Pizza.

@Euan Sorry no one nominated Armandos. We did several shout outs asking people to nominate their favourite places and all of them got added to the above list.

@Anonymous 01 You can only vote once. When did you vote, there have been quite a lot today.
@Anonymous 02 When we asked for suggestions both Bella Napoli and Bier Stube got a huge number of nominations. Stefanos and Darios did too but they currently they are behind.
Dario's is BY FAR the best place to get a pizza in Shawlands!
In my opinion this place is one of the ONLY places that uses fresh ingredients and takes time over their food.
Myself and my partner now only order from here. Not only is the pizza delicious, the pasta is amazing and the burgers are top notch! (I work in Ketchup southside,so know a bit about burgers) :P
One night last week,we had a bit of a longer wait for our food(which we didn't mind as we know its made to order and knew it would be worth the wait. The chef himself hand delivered our meals as he was aware we had waited a bit longer than usual! Amazing service,amazing food!
If you havent tried Dario's, get on it!
Agreed with Nikki... people who are picking Bella Napoli (which is good) haven't eaten Dario's (which is awesome). I can only imagine people picking Bier Stube because of their deal?!
My fav is Papa John's - best for take away/delivery !
DEFINITELY Dario, the best pizza I've ever tasted in my life! And such a fabulous owner who works super hard every day of the week. They really deserve it.
The real neapolitan pizzas is at BELLINI. Best in shawland. Fantastico.

@Ziv the original person who asked about the best pizza in the southside wanted the best non francise place.
@Anonymous 3 - not hada pizza from Bellinis only ever had pasta or lasanga. Both were good.
@Anonymous 4 - the only reason a vote would not be couted is if someone from your IP address has already voted. When we ran our previous Cake poll we had a slight issue with repeat voters wih one person voting 10 times in a row for their favourite. To avoid having to delete votes this time round we limited the votes to one per IP address. Does that seem fair?
In my opinion Dario's should have won. I think Bella only won because it is on the main street and therefore attrcats more customers. Where as Dario's is on one of the side streets of shawlands ( 44 skirving street ) and isn't very noticable unless you live down that way or walk up or down Skirving street. although it has fell into place really good considering the time it has been opened and has won 2nd best place for pizza in the southside ( only a few votes down from bella ) well done DARIO!!!
Darios is by far the best - £11 for 2 12" pizzas, lots of toppings, fresh dough - amazing.
I haven't been back to Bier Stude after my wife found a fly in her pizza. What annoyed us most is the manager just laughed, and didn't even apologise, just gave us a drink on the house. He wasn't at at embarrassed or apologetic. It put us right off, and we've not been back since.
That could happen anywhere as a fly could land on your food and get stuck, especially in a pizza - I reckon you have a bee in your bonnet!!! Anyway, ive eaten in Stube for years and pizza deal is 2nd to none and range of beers is excellent also..
Sorry, it couldn't just "happen" to anyone... its carelessness and it's unhygienic. Also, if you read my post, I said the managers attitude was the most annoying thing.. maybe you're the manager, if you think its acceptable? Enjoy your fly infested pizzas!
