Greater Shawland's Republic - Christmas Event

The Great Shawlands Republic will be meeting again this weekend and here is what they had to say for themselves.

"The Executive Committee of the Greater Shawlands Republic have thought long and hard about whether Santa is a construct of a rich, feckless, corrupt Western elite only concerned with material possessions or if he is in fact the greatest socialist hero known to humanity. No means testing for Santa. He is a universal benefit. In the end we couldn't decide but we have asked him for a new coat of paint for our submarine.

The next gala night of the Greater Shawlands Republic falls on Sunday December 2nd and will once again be held in the Bungo on Nithsdale Road. We have the wonderful Pearse James and a very special, mystery guest. All we've told people so far is that HE's been on Michael McIntyre's Comedy Roadshow and last year he sold out the Kings. Further information will be unveiled on our facebook page.

The night starts at 8pm and tickets are 5 polloks and 99 shields for Southsiders and 6 polloks for Westenders."

Well spotted anonymous. Hmmm judging by the date on their facebook event page their poster should say the 2nd instead.

I've emailed them to find out the right date.
