The Baths Art Auction

Really good wee event happening at Govanhill Baths this week, an art auction in an empty swimming pool.

"Please join us for three days of art exhibition and silent auction within the walls of The Govanhill Baths. The event will culminate on the evening of March 19th in a live auction of a number of the most desired works from the silent auction, as well as a number of works from invited well established artists. The live auction begins at 7pm. Proceeds of the event will support the Govanhill Baths Community Trust in their campaign to restore this historic, essential, recreational, health giving facility and to return it to community use. "

Atrtists inclluded in the live auction on Saturday night include; Turner Prize winner Douglas Gordon with Jonathan Monk, Turner nominee Lucy Skaer and Becks Futures winner Toby Paterson and the prestigious work of; Nathan Coley, Sam Ainsley, Claire Barclay, Kate Davis, Alan Michael, Ilana Halperin, Nick Evans, Sigga Bjorg Sigurdardottir, Erica Eyres, Ross Collins, Jane Topping, Lorna Macintyre.  

The “silent” auction comprises work contributed via an open call and will feature the work of over 40 emerging, local, national and international talent.
