Govanhill Swimmers Gala - 26th March 2011

A couple of weeks ago I came across the Govanhill Swimmers website. It made me smile alot! The Govanhill Swimmers are a group of students from the RSAMD who get to together and through performances in and around Govanhill, promote the Govanhill Community Baths Project.
The Govanhill Swimmers are looking for somewhere to swim, unfortunately the only pool they can find is closed. For now they continue to train outside and hold their swim meets and races on the streets of Govanhill as their search for a local pool continues

On Saturday 26th March, for the first time, the group will be holding their Swimming Gala within the Govanhill Baths. Go along and support this fantastic group in their quest to find somewhere to swim.

Saturday, 12 o clock at Govanhill Community Baths

***Update: There is a very interesting article on the Govanhill Community Bath's website detailing the realisation of this project, the RSAMD students involved in the project and also a great selection of photos from the Gala. click here
