Southside Festival 2012 weekend

SOUTHSIDE FESTIVAL
The Southside Festival have just released information on the 2012 Festival which is taking place this coming weekend. Lots of events on in the recreation grounds for a family day out with music and comedy elsewhere too, here's what they have to say about it all.

"The big day this year is on the 26th of May and and will be followed on the 27th with "Picnic in the park".

Festivities will kick of on the 26th at 11am with the procession leaving from Newlandsfield Road and for the first time passes through Shawlands before making its way down Pollokshaws road to Alison Street and then right onto Victoria Road and entering the Recreation Grounds from the Queens Drive entrance. From this point on the main stage bursts into life with tunes from the St Francis Pipe Band followed by a full ten hours of music from up and coming Scottish Bands who regularly perform at the Mod as well as indie clubs throughout Glasgow.
For Picnic in the Park, the Southside Festival managed to secure an extensive line up of local bands form secondary schools from all over the Southside as a way of providing a platform where they can gain experience of playing in a large event and the opportunity to share their tunes."

You can read the whole programme of events here.
