Glasgow Orchestral Society



The Glasgow Orchestral Society are an amateur orchestra who perform around 4 concerts a year, with the majority of their programme from the 19th and 20th Century. 

They are performing at Sherbrooke St Gilbert's Nithsdale Road on Saturday 15 December, 7.30pm. Tickets cost £10 and £5 (students and school children)

The music will include:

Bizet, Carmen Suite
Rossini arr, Britten, Soirees Musicales
Offenbach, Overture 'Orpheus in the Underworld'
Rossini arr, Britten, Soirees Musicales
Saint-Saëns, Bacchanale from Samson and Delilah
de Falla, Three Cornered Hat
conductor, Ross Gunning

The group rehearse with a number of different professional conductors and their soloists come from across the UK include the best of rising local talent.

If you would be interested in joining them, (Players should preferably be of Grade 8 standard or have previous extensive orchestral experience) then get in touch via their website, or come along to one of their concerts and see what they are like.
